Historic Church Service at 10am: Christ Church Hawthorn 170th Festival Anniversary - Sunday 19th November 2023

There will be no usual 11am TGCC service this Sunday (19th November 2023) as Christ Church Hawthorn have organised a 170th Anniversary Festival, celebrating 170 years in the Hawthorn Community.

We are all invited to the historic church service which begins at 10am (using traditional liturgy).

There will be festivities and stalls from 10:30am to 2pm with a range of activities after the short service:

• Community market & local organisation stalls

• Musical performances

• Historical re-enactment church service

• Petting zoo

• Jumping castle

• Kid’s face painting

• Craft station

• Self guided heritage walk (learn about local history)

• Sausage sizzle

• Food & drinks

• Cake and preserves stall

Christ Church Hawthorn 170th Anniversary Festival

Communion Sunday 3rd September 2023

Dear brothers and sisters,

We will meet tomorrow at 10:30am in the side room of the Memorial Hall for prayer. We will pray for the world, the nation and the church.

Then at 11am we will begin our Communion Sunday service.

Easter Sunday Service 9th April 2023

Dear brothers and sisters,

We rejoice in the Resurrection! Because Christ lives, we will live too.
So let us gather tomorrow at 11am in the Memorial Hall for our Easter Sunday Service.
We will also celebrate the Lord's Supper - knowing that Christ is always with us and that he will come again to bring us home to his everlasting kingdom.

If you are able, join us for a pre-service prayer meeting at 10:30 am in the side room.

Services on Holy Week

Dear brothers and sisters,

This coming Sunday is the end of Daylight Saving.
It is also the start of Holy Week in the church calendar. 

To help us set our mind to reflect on the events of Holy Week, there will be the following services:

• Palm Sunday 2nd April, 11am, Memorial Hall

• Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service, 6th April, 8pm, Memorial Hall

• Good Friday Service, 7th April, 11am, Memorial Hall

• Easter Sunday Service, 9th April 11am, Memorial Hall  (our monthly fellowship lunch will happen after this service)

Please take the opportunity to invite your family and friends to one of the services. And pray that the gospel will be received by people who need to hear it.

We meet tomorrow at 11am in the Memorial Hall for our monthly Communion Service.
There will be a pre-service prayer time at 10:30am in the side room. Please join us if you are able to. We will pray for the UK, for our nation, and for our faith community.

There will be lunch after the service, followed by the screening of the talk, "Meeting the Transgender Challenge" by Rev Rob Smith. We hope you can stay for lunch and talk.

Sunday Service 26th February 2023

Dear brother and sisters,

We meet tomorrow at 11am in the Memorial Hall for our Sunday worship gathering around God's word.

If you are able, please join us at 10:30am in the side room for a short time of prayer together. We will pray for the nation of Japan. We will also pray for our government to continue to grant Christian colleges the freedom to practice their beliefs. And we will pray for our church that the post-service AGM will go well.
