The Gospel Community Church will merge with All Saints Mitcham, with the first service starting on Sunday 8th Sep 2024

TGCC will merge in gospel partnership with All Saints Anglican Church, Mitcham from Sunday 8th September 2024. The final TGCC service at Christ Church Hawthorn will be on Sunday 1st September 2024.

TGCC will merge in gospel partnership with All Saints Anglican Church, Mitcham from Sunday 8th September 2024. The final TGCC service at Christ Church Hawthorn will be on Sunday 1st September 2024.

Details of the merger gospel partnership

In April 2024, Greg Wong, the Vicar of All Saints Anglican Church, Mitcham proposed a gospel partnership involving merging TGCC and All Saints Mitcham congregations.

Mitcham is a fast-growing multi-ethnic suburb with many young families. All Saints Mitcham has a rich history in the suburb dating back 130 years. In recent years, there has been an invigoration of the gospel work and more workers are needed. This merger will therefore benefit both churches. For TGCC, there are new missional opportunities. For All Saints Mitcham, there is an infusion of youthful energy and gospel-work experience.

TGCC’s final Sunday service as a FIEC church will be on 1st September, 2024 in the Memorial Hall of Christ Church Hawthorn. From Sunday 8th September 2024, we will become part of the Anglican community and will begin attending All Saints Mitcham at 18 Edward Street, Mitcham, VIC 3132.

Thank you to everyone who has helped TGCC grow

As we transition to Mitcham, we give thanks for every remembrance of those who have helped TGCC grow:

  • We thank the FIEC executive board for their support all these years.

  • We are also grateful to Rev Andrew Dircks and his congregation for their kind hospitality to us during our time as a tenant of Christ Church Anglican Church, Hawthorn.

  • Our thanks also go to TGCC external board members who have provided advice to our fledgling church.

  • Above all, we give thanks to God for the way he has worked in the lives of every TGCC member, maturing them through the challenges of a new church.

What does this mean for TGCC members (and for any visitors to TGCC)?

  • Sunday 1st Sep 2024: This will be TGCC’s last service, held in the Memorial Hall of Christ Church Hawthorn

  • Sunday 8th Sep 2024: TGCC congregation will now be part of All Saints Mitcham and will attend their first service at All Saints Mitcham on this date. All are welcome to join us from this Sunday onwards.

  • From 8th September 2024, please direct all inquiries to All Saints Mitcham.

  • You may still access the TGCC sermon podcasts via the current channels (Spotfiy, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts). We intend to keep these available for everyone into the future.
